Am I alone in thinking the handoffs between iOS devices and HomePods is absolutely horrible? I start playing something on my phone. I then decide I want to listen to it through the HomePod, so I try to airplay to it. Instead of it just airplaying, the HomePod takes over as the main device. Then if you pause the music for a few minutes and try to start it back up, the iOS device thinks it’s playing the initial song forgetting that it ever played on the homepod. Then i reconnect to the HomePod and it starts playing whats on my phone again forgetting it had something playing on the HomePod.

With music it’s a little more than mildly annoying, but with podcasts it’s infuriating. I’ll start a podcast, airplay to the HomePod. Then later on try listening in my car and the phone has zero idea where the HomePod left off and has to start over. With all of these being apple products, shouldn’t they work together to figure this out? I have a better experience using my sonos speakers with airplay than i do the HomePods.

Am i missing a setting for this? I feel like no one else ever comments about this and its the one thing that drives me up a wall about the HomePods.
