Since a day or two ago, whenever I ask Siri, Intercom I get the following message "Home hasn't added support for that with Siri", which means absolutely nothing to me... And I get the same response on all of my HomePods. There are 4 minis and 2 OG HomePods.

I have checked in the Home app and everything is set to on, anywhere etc...

Just when you thought Siri couldn't get any more useless, it actually does.

Is anyone else getting this...?

Yep, just started yesterday for us. On my iPhone it will occasionally respond via Siri, but nothing on any HomePods.

Not just me then... good. I'm guessing Apple have done something in the background in readiness for the next imminent OS update. Fricking annoying, none the less.

Weirdly enough, if you specify the room, it works.

Maybe it's some type of new functionality coming with the updates. Although it's of no use if you don't know where the other person is... or do you specify "intercom everywhere" ...?

I dont know. Final 15.5 releases will be out this week so we will find out soon.

The useless Muppets have also changed how curtains are referred to in the UK. They are now referred to as drapes or shades rather than curtains via Siri. Now someone tell me they are not making Siri worse with each version.

Really odd bug, and frustrating. We have started using intercom a lot, and now doesn’t work at all.
The trick is to specify which room... eg "Hey Siri, intercom kitchen". I haven't tried "Hey Siri, intercom everywhere" yet but I suspect that this will work too.

For your interest, just got off the phone with Apple (reported it to Apple Care). Very brief conversation. To my surprise they said that they are indeed issues with intercom and Apple Music (???) at the moment, and told me to be patient.

What Apple Music issues, I wonder?. There was another brief outage last night in my area, but other than that, I have not noticed anything in particular.

I just got my Homepod minis yesterday and experiencing similar issues here. Is anyone experiencing an issue to where you can make an intercom from ios device to Homepod. However, no IOS devices can receive an intercom. And if I try to make an announcement from Homepod, it says "No devices are available right now"

Yes, basically Intercom is broken right now. At least Apple is aware of the issue.

Thanks for confirming. What's interesting is that it's not all people affected. I made a similar post to this on Reddit and a couple confirmed what I'm experiencing is working fine.

What is the exact command you are trying? I will give it a go on my set up and get back to you with the result.

I predict 15.5.1 next week. Not for this alone, but mainly for the dropped calls issue on IOS devices.

Same (just as a datapoint). Intercom stopped working on all 6 HomePods (1 'big', others mini), all with "Home hasn't added support for that with Siri" since the update. Yes, I can do it by now directing to a specific room, and looks like "Intercom to all rooms" works, but would have been nice for Apple to note that. :(

This is another thing I absolutely despise with Apple and Siri, the fact that they are constantly making backend changes to how Siri, which is already utter garbage, works or rather doesn’t without any communication to the end users. We are stuck with this sack of **** assistant which progressively gets worse every single year.

It can make you feel like that, that's for sure. And yes, they do have a habit of changing things backend. Especially when a new OS update is due, usually a few days beforehand.
