I just received a HomePod mini delivered from the Apple Store. It arrived with OS 14.4 installed on it. Is it normal to have a device shipped from Apple with such an old os installed on it?

Thanks,
Bernard.

I’ve seen it before, wouldn’t say it’s a problem especially as the device doesn’t have a battery.

Thanks to all. It does have an added bonus. When I upgraded my Apple TV 4K to 16.2, some of my homekit devices stop being accessible. With the HomePod on 14.4 used as a hub instead of the Apple TV everything is back to normal. So I’ll delay upgrading until Apple releases a fix for the HomeKit mess.

Make sure all your connected devices are running their latest FW versions.
