Have my HomePod Mini set to play whats only ATV. However when I turn my TV off (sleep timer for example) the ATV stays on, and sound is still coming out of my HomePod Mini.
Any way to make the HomePod Mini stop playing sound when I turn off the tv (else my sleep time is not very useful.)

Are you just turning the TV off? You’d need to sleep the ATV too otherwise it keeps running. Does your TV support CEC?

The sleep timer is in the settings menu of my Samsung TV, so yes, turning off TV with sleep timer.
TV does support CEC (I hit the power button on the new ATV remote, and TV turns on).
As far as sleep the appletv, I think I have that disabled as I don't want the ATV turning off while watching a show/app.

As far as I know, it doesn’t matter what the ATV timer is set to, if you’re watching content, it will continue unless it’s idle on the Home Screen for whatever sleep time you selected. I have all my ATVs set to sleep after 15 mins and they continue playing as long as content is playing well beyond the 15 minutes. A hockey game for example. I have AT&T TV and that app will ask if I’m still there but after many hours of being idle. If I don’t answer, it will sleep the app and eventually sleep the ATV, turn the TV off.

Check to see if CEC is enabled. My TVs have CEC and are HomeKit supported. I have an automation to turn the TVs off at a certain time every night and this, in turn, sleeps the ATVs and HomePods that are connected to it. But if the TV turns off on its own timer, it should technically work the same for you.

So ultimately, the reason the HomePod keeps playing is because the ATV is still awake and playing content. You can also create an automation in HomeKit to pause the ATV and HomePod at a certain time or just mute the ATV and HomePod.

What app are you using for content?
