I’m not sure when it began but I think it’s after the 16.3 update my HomePod mini just randomly starts playing music without my prompt. I set the airplay to home users only and I’m curious if someone hacked my home like the Siri light won’t even light on and Siri won’t even make a sound is my HomePod mini finally cursed

There are some reports of Mini's experiencing "phantom touches" on the top touch area, and if that happens, it can trigger music to play. Probably not fixable with firmware if that's what's happening with your parents. I think somewhere within the accessibility settings for HomePod you can specify a longer hold time for a touch, which might alleviate the issue. Cats may also trigger playback so it would be good to eliminate something like that as a cause too I guess.

I spent the whole weekend trying everything.
Touch is set to the longest amount 4 second.
Siri set to Hey Siri.
Factory reset multiple times.

Firmware should be changed to disable it completely.

Parents would need get a cat for that to trigger it.
