One of my HomePod minis died yesterday :( It suddenly disconnected from wifi, and unplugging and replugging didn't fix the problem. I tried to reset to factory settings by holding my finger on the top until the screen turned red and it beeped three times, then used my iPad or my iPhone to transfer settings (I tried about 5 times with different devices). Every time during the settings transfer process the HomePod mini could not connect to the network. I can't for the life of me get this to work. I have 5 other HomePod minis on the same software version (15.4) working perfectly fine, so I'm inclined to think this is a hardware problem given how suddenly the HomePod dropped wifi. Has anyone else had this issue?

Have you tried moving it closer to your router and see if that helps? HomePods are very finicky when it comes to Wi-Fi. Had to do this with one of mine for initial set up.

Yep, I tried right next to the router without any luck.

If you have the patience, which I’ve lost with Apple long ago, you could try waiting for a miracle lol (see second paragraph??). If not, no need to futz with it. Get it replaced under warranty if not too late.

Last week, I was updating one of my OGs to 15.4. Before an update like that, I generally restart the device. After I restarted this HomePod, it wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi either. Hours of unplugging, restarting, moving locations, it finally popped up the next day and been working since.

Probably unlikely, but check to make sure the router isn't blocking it for some reason. Also, make sure you aren't hitting any sort of limits. (My brother's router was once misconfigured to only assign out 10 IPs via DCHP. It would end up kicking devices off, or not allowing new ones to connect whenever we came to visit.) Restart your router if you haven't already.

One last thing to try could be connecting it to your computer and restore the OS.

I checked the warranty and have 6 days left!

I thought this could be an issue, but for the life of me couldn't figure it out with any configuration. I also tried to restore the OS from my computer without any luck - when I try to set up the HomePod mini I get the same issue.

Just for giggles, I restored one of my other HomePod minis to factory settings and set it up again without any issue. I chatted with Apple, who ran through everything I already did with no solution. They're going to replace it.

Go to an Apple Store or start a "repair" through the phone/website.
