I purchased a HomePod mini for my children for Christmas. I have it all set up and they are all listed on the device. It will recognize their voices easily but will not play music or playlist from their library, it always plays music from my library instead. I even set it to default to my daughter's playlist in case it does not recognize a voice. Anyone else find a solution to this problem?

Hi, I wanted the mini for this exact reason--for different users to share their own music; however, I don't have a solution for you. We have had difficulty connecting multiple devices to it and I have not been very impressed thus far. Despite this, the sound is excellent!

So it's not possible, or only wrong setup?

Just bought 4 HomePod Mini because of that point.

2 parents and one child - alle different libraries (Apple Music Family subscription). So it's not possible, that there are different libraries?

Same issue, bought HomePod minis for the household, but my daughter can’t set the alarm on the one in her room even though she is the primary user. It’s almost as if she needs to set up her own home??

Thinking about staying with Sonos devices.

not that much features, but multi account and multi room is working as it should.
I thought it will be better with homepods concerning multi account and multi room

I am still having issues with this not working. I just purchased a 2nd Homepod Mini for another children’s room and that does the same thing, even though I have it set to play from my 8 year old’s library. I think the next rainy weekend day I will call Apple support and see what advice they have. Has anyone else found a solution?

Wish I could help, but I am having the same issue. I’m on a family share and personalised requests don’t work for my kid.. and in their “home” app they have no settings for the HomePod .. I’ll be watching this thread closely.

Just got my wife a HomePod Mini for her dressing room and are having this issue.
Recognizes who she is if she asks but 'can't find' her playlists.

Works ok on our two original HomePods.

@OP, I found out too late that you need an Music subscription (Apple or iTunes Match) to play your playlists. Might be that it plays your lists thru Apple Music but your kids don't have a subscription?

I urge everyone, please make complaints to Apple about this! Its just wrong to 'ransomware' via a "subscription" for the most basic features. Or at least warn us first!

I have an Apple Music sub which my wife is on but will not play her playlists.

We have two other original HomePods that play hers on request with no probs, it's just the mini that won't.
