I have two HomePod minis running as a stereo pair on my desk, alongside a MacBook Pro M1 and a plethora of Apple devices.
I use them solely for music, but performance is so bad I want to chuck them out. Music will constantly pause or just stop playing altogether.
It’s the same whether I’m tapping on the minis for auto play, asking Siri to play something, or using AirPlay from the MacBook, iPhone or iPad.
Airplay works almost seamlessly within the rest of my home. I have zero issues with playing from any device to my Apple TV, to my Bluesound PowerNode, to my Cambridge Audio CXN v2. The only other device I have issues with is a Yamaha network streaming amp, and it’s much more stable these days than it originally was.
Anyone else having these kind of issues with the mini(s)? I absolutely love the sound but with this kind of performance I’m close to just shelling out for some active speakers.
