Hi,

we currently own a single HomePod and plan to extend our setup by adding some HomePod minis in other rooms.

We usually have our HomePod playing the local radio station which is streamed from TuneIn (no Apple Music subscription). Is streaming TuneIn radio also possible for a multi-room setup with several HomePod minis? I imagine, the HomePod would need to be able to AirPlay(2) directly to the minis, to be in sync? There should be no iPhone/iPad/Mac involved.

Does anyone know whether that is possible, like in "Hey Siri, play this radio in all rooms"?

Thanks!

you should be able do it with siri, "hey sir play <station> everywhere" or "in the kitchen"

but it will definitely work
on your phone, go to control center
open the airplay menu (circle and triangles in the top right square)
at the bottom, hit other speakers
you can then select the home pod you want to be the "source"
and under it, will be all the airplay targets in your house

in the "other speakers" section you'll see all of your airplay sources - the device you're holding (phone or iPad), and all of your appleTVs and HomePods.

then once you open each speaker, you'll have another airplay menu for all of the targets, (HomePods, appleTVs, and any third party speaker or TV)

Have a similar question. Do you need to airplay from the iPhone or can the HomePod play radio by itself without Apple Music? I need the phone for talking so I can't airplay constantly and I don't need Apple Musik just for radio.
