HomePod HomePod no longer starting playback on Apple TV.

With iOS 15 you could ask Siri on a HomePod or homepods paired with the Apple TV. to play X TV show and it would give you some options on screen which you could select one via voice controls and it would initiate playback. Since the 15.2 update it won’t start playback you still need to use the remote to start playback. This is very disappointing for me as I’ve waited for years to have this feature and it’s something that’s been available for years with a chrome cast and google home device. Both of which can be bought for less that £40 combined.

Sounds very Apple like lately. Release a new software that fixes one thing but breaks three others.

While I don’t use this feature, I can sympathize with your frustrations. I get more and more deflated with every Apple OS release.

Find My Live location is an example. Was the only feature I was excited for with iOS 15. Worked a treat with the initial public release of 15.0 but stopped working ever since 15.1.

Seems to be working again today.
