Tried to do the recent update to my pair of original HomePods. One wasn't responding so unplugged and plugged back in. Still not responding so hit restore. It vanished from HomeKit and now it doesn't even switch on. No idea what to do next, I guess it is bricked :-( Any help much appreciated.

Yikes. There was an update a few years back that was bricking OG HomePods.

Try this:

-Unplug for 10 seconds
-Plug back in and wait 10 seconds then touch and hold the display till it says “Your HomePod will now reset” followed by three beeps.

Thanks for your help. Didn’t work unfortunately. I guess I’m out of luck as Apple won’t care as too old.
