So Best Buy is having a pre Black Friday sale and I picked up a HomePod for $199. I already have Google Homes and Alexas all over the house, but I figured I’d try out a HomePod.

To my surprise, Apple requires that you have Two Factor Authentication turned on in your Apple ID to even set the thing up! I hate 2FA and think it’s a pain in the butt and don’t use it, and have no intention of using it.

So now I have the thing already boxed up to return tomorrow without even getting a chance to mess around with it.

Buyer beware if you don’t like 2FA like me and you are thinking about getting a HomePod.

I hear you. 2FA is a royal pain and another reason why I will never get an Apple credit card which also requires it to be turned on.
