Sorry if this question was already answered... I was just curious if anyone here thinks it's possible for a Homepod to be used as a PC speaker. I've heard about an app called AirParrot being able to mimic airplay, does anyone know if this would be enough to connect and use a Homepod as a speaker?

Maybe there's another solution, let me know, because I love the look of the Homepod right now.

Hey! I would appreciate if you could help me answer some questions:
  1. Can I stream music from iTunes on Windows to HomePod?
  2. Is there a way to get AirPlay working on Windows? I've found a program called Airfoil, but I don't know anything about the dev or anyone using it (whether it works well or not) https://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/
I mainly wonder if I can use HomePod as a PC speaker for gaming, movies (VLC), YouTube videos etc. Unfortunately, there's no line-in, so I'm looking for ways to solve this through software.

I don't believe you'll have too much luck in getting it work as a speaker for the PC, but if you have a musics subscription, you can at least play music. I'm not sure about apps that purport to mimic airplay, I suspect they may not work as well as you want them too.

Putting on my moderator hat, I updated the title to make it a more generlized thread about windows and PC support for the HomePod, I suspect there will be others asking similar questions.
