HomePod HomePod placement

Can I put the HomePod on my computer desk? It is a floating desk so its not really solid and I am worried about the vibrations in the air and through the desk hurting my external HDD and my iMac. The HomePod will be about 2.5 feet from the equipment.

I am more concerned about the safety of my hard drives. It really is the only place i can put it.

• turn the Mac off
• disconnect the hard drives
• put a coin on the desk
• make the HomePod play some fat base
• see if the coin bounces around
• draw conclusion

I'm pretty sure bass is Hdd-safe, otherwise millions of DJ's would be buying new drives weekly.
