Hi there,

very strange problem:

++++

(a light is on, e.g. green)

set 1
me: hey Siri light yellow
siri: ok switch to yellow (or so)
effect: nothing happens

within a few seconds or very few minutes:

set 2
me: hey Siri light blue
siri: ok switching to blue
effect: switches to YELLOW

within a few seconds or very few minutes:

set 3
me: hey Siri light red
siri: ok switching to pink
effect: switches to BLUE

+++++

this is so very strange, as it also applies to switches etc.

the key is to not leave to much time in between the two commands; if you wait for lets say 3 or 5 minutes (don't know didn't measure), it will perform the correct action, as expected directly following the command...

it doesn't matter if I address my hue objects or an "independent" bt-switch, same behavior.

btw: switching in the HomeKit app works flawlessly; but using siri on my MacBook Air... same behavior as above.

also, when you are in that "timeframe", siri sometimes doesn't get the right color: I say: siri, light pink - she says: alright, light black (!). which isn't even near the original phonetics-wise.

it is driving me nuts, because I like to tell siri to do a few things quickly one after the other.

many thanks for ANY comments - I am out of ideas.

cheers,
m

rebooted HomePod already, but no change.

why would rebooting my router have any effect?

of course I will try that as well, but didn't think it would matter...

I'm not sure, but it seems to fix a lot of HomePod strangeness. some features will work fine, others only half-way, and others not at all, and the router normally clears it up

The whole 14 series of updates has been a mess.

No wonder Tim wants everyone back together in the office, Not sure if that's the cause, but it makes a bit of sense.
