Since 14.3 if I ask any of my HomePods to adjust the volume in a different room, I get the response "Sorry there was a problem adjusting volume". With no other explanation. I have obviously, restarted them and checked on the Home app that everything is as it should be. Could someone who has multiple HomePods on 14.3, try this out. And report back. It was working fine pre-update...

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar issue with my HomePod a while ago where trying to do anything with Siri would just say "sorry there was a problem". I had to delete the HomePod from my home and reset it, then add it again and it started working. Might be worth a try.

This method worked for me as well. IIRC, it happened after a power outage.

Good luck.

I did the reset thing and it brought back some functionality. However, I now have to simplify my request. Instead of asking "Hey Siri, increase bedroom speaker volume to xx%". I now ask "Hey Siri, increase bedroom volume to xx%". And it works.

Although, asking Siri to confirm volume levels on any speaker seems to pull up the response "Sorry there was a problem determining volume". Unless you omit the word speaker from the request, it then works.

Who would have thunk it, or thought it possible, Siri got dumber in 14.3...

Ha! They are still having issues taking to each other. I have two original HPs and three minis. What just worked on 14.2.1 seems to be having difficulty on 14.3. Hoping the next update fixes whatever it is, which is preventing a seamless experience.

I am having this same issue; after a power outage as well I believe. I have 6 total home pods including minis so I do not really want to reset them all. Any suggestions? Language is US English etc..

I feel your pain. It is very hit and miss at the moment. This is definitely a 14.3 problem. I have done another reset and the issue is still there. I think we will have to wait until a fix is issued.

I have a love hate relationship with my HomePods. They are great when they work. Apple wants to charge premium pricing but their products don’t always work in a premium way. I want to get the Airmax but the many HomePod issues have me second guessing.
