I installed a Wifi socket in my home. It came with an app. I connected a lamp to that socket.
I added a Siri shortcut to activate it and deactivate it.

I can control it fine using my iPhone using "Hey Siri, lamp on".

But with the Homepod, when I give it the same command, it thinks I want to turn on one of the lights in one of my rooms (that I set up previously).

How do I get it to recognise my new Siri Shortcut for the lamp socket?

It sounds like this Wi-Fi plug is not HomeKit compatible and is controlled by another app that supports Siri Shortcuts, correct?

If so, have you enabled personal requests on the HomePod? Since it’s a shortcut on your iPhone and requires a third party app, the HomePod will need to do a personal request to your iPhone to run the shortcut. It won’t run directly on the HomePod. (It’ll only work with your voice and if your iPhone is nearby.)

Also, are your existing lights something similar, or are they HomeKit compatible and controlled through the Home app? Try giving the shortcut a different name just to rule out a potential naming conflict. Maybe it’s doing a HomeKit command rather than the Shortcut command. HomeKit commands are generally more flexible in what you can say to control HomeKit devices.

Yes, that's right.
The Wifi socket is not compatible with Homekit.
It is controlled by its own app which allows Siri Shortcuts.

I already have personal requests enabled on the Homepod via the Homekit.

I did try changing the name of the wifi socket from lamp to socket on siri shortcut, but it still doesn't recognise that when I call it.

Anny ideas?
