HomePod HomePods not working as stereo speakers

I have 2 Homepods linked as stereo speakers and the. one has stopped working so I unlinked them and tried resetting the one not working but every time I try resetting it it stops showing me the message setup failed. Has anyone any ideas, or what I can do.please

I would do a reset without using the home app........unplug the HomePod for a minute or two, then plug it back into power while pressing the top display of the HomePod....when the top display is red colour then that means its doing a factory reset and is ready to set up from scratch.

Thanks . I phoned Apple yesterday and it’s going back for repair because. He asked me to delete the icon for the HomePod and when he asked me to reset it the HomePod icon wouldn’t com back so he said it was a hardware fault and asked me to send it back
