hook up a airport extreme to fios router

i have read posts on here and searched the web for instructions none have worked. i have a verizon fios wireless router and an apple time machine. i have hooked up the time machine to the fios router and tried to configure it. i can get wifi but not internet. i also tried bridge mode and it did not work. is there an easy solution?

Connect the two, put the router in bridge mode, then reboot both the router and modem/router.
