Hooking Up A PC and My mini mac

When I order my dell laptop, I would really enjoy creating a LAN between my mac mini and my new laptop.

Two reasons:

1) To play LAN games (Starcraft, Warcraft etc) between the laptop and my mini.

2) To share the Internet connection between my mini and my laptop using a wireless LAN.


Yes. My mini has an airport inside.
No problems there. I know I could figure it out, but I want to know if this can be done and if not, why.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it'd work, you'd just have to set up internet sharing in Sharing System Preferences page although personally I'd rather just get a cheap wireless router - it doesn't have to be an Apple one, any 54g wireless router will do. I'm a particular fan of the Netgear ones myself.

Since you already have a Mac, I can't imagine why you would want a Dell.

Another alternative would be to use the "create network" option of the AirPort menu to use the Mac as a WiFi router...

Overall though, I think that it's much easier to deploy an inexpensive router to do the trick.
