Hooking up Cinema Display and Plasma Screen simultaneously?

I'm putting together a video editing setup, based on a 17" 2.2ghz i7 MBP (need to mobility). While at the office, I'd like to connect it to a 27" Cinema Display to extend my editing screen, and a 42" Panasonic Plasma for my real-time preview monitor.

I heard somewhere about using USB for a display, but at this point I'm kind of lost on how to make this happen in a way that will work well/smoothly.

Open to suggestions!

Would there be any problems or limitations with using one of these:

Would it show up in the Displays Preference Pane as a normal third display?
