Hookup 2010 Air to a 2006 IMac....

What do you mean by "hookup"? What are you wanting to do achieve? A well thought out and worded question usually yields better answers.
You could use the Apple USB Ethernet adapter and then use a crossover ethernet cable to directly connect them or two straight through ethernet cables and a switch.
