If your apple store has available ram, they will install the ram at the store, on the spot. It may take awhile but your problem will be solved.

oh you don't what a relief that is! I was dreading i was going to have to search for compatable ram cards all over the city centre tomorrow!

so if i ask them to add an extra 2gb in it should be no problem whatsoever providing they have spare ones ?

Yes, as long as they have some in stock they will do it free of charge (you still have to pay for the memory).

It cost me more to get ram after I bought...

I upgraded the ram on my last macbook. It cost more at the store because they pull out two 1GB sticks and insert 2 2GB sticks. Then they give you the 2 1GB sticks to take with you. When you order they just build it with the 2's. Cheaper. I just ordered one also and had them add the ram this time.
