A friend gave me a Macbook Pro 17" - Core i7 2,66 GHz - 8GB Ram DDR3 - NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M - serial number C02D40GXDD6Y - with a fresh mountain lion installed. It came by mail, shipped from a city far away. When it arrived, I right away opened the box and turned it on. Since the lights came on, a horizontal line appeared across the entire screen.
I connected the machine to an external monitor which did not show any line. I asked my friend and he said that he did not see any line while the computer was in his hands, what leads me to the conclusion that something happened during the mail trip that damaged the led screen. Am I right or could be some software problem easily solvable?
