It would be great to be able to type horizontally in TextEdit.app. I am a complete newb when it comes to things like this though. Would anyone give me a link to something like it/show me how to do it? Thanks

No available text software for the iTouch does the missionary position, I'm afraid. Maybe if enough people ask for horizontal editing something will get done, so fingers crossed.

To be honest something needs to be done about this. I find typing in portrait mode very uncomfortable, slow and cumbersome and it's not like my hands are really that big. Any application that supports text input on the iPod touch should allow typing in landscape mode, that should have been one of the design guidelines Apple had when they designed the touch in my opinion.

Safari allows landscape typing. The fact that it's already available in Safari should help any developers, I'd say.
