I decided to write a letter to Steve and tell him a story about it, not expecting him to reply... just a way to release my anger and here is my letter:

My name is Atropos, and I m currently an ADC Student membership member, and I did enroll Selected and Student membership for several year already. This week I tried to purchase the Xserve from Apple HK by using the ADC one life time student hardware discount, and it turns out is my nightmare, I think I won't purchase things from Apple HK directly and I m thinking should I renew my ADC membership.

In 22 Sept 2008 , I called Apple HK that I wished to purchase the Xserve system by use ADC one life time student hardware discount, and the salesman did check all my status and approve to purchase the Xserve order on phone. A day after in 23 Sept 2008, I make a payment in bank and just want to sit back and wait the system arrive. But in 24 Sept 2008, the nightmare came, I check my status in Apple HK website and they said my order has been cancelled, I have no idea why, so I made a call, and the guy on phone said I didn't pay the payment, so I head to the bank and check the account, the money has been withdraw. I just no idea why did it happen, so I called them again; I gave them all information I have such as check number to make sure that they resolve the problem for me, than they said they did make a mistake and they reverse and process my order, so I felt so confirm by that again, I receive a email at night that I will have the system on or before 26 Sept 2008 to 29 Sept 2008.

Today 25 Sept 2008, I check my status in Apple website about my order to see if the system has been shipped or not, and I saw a BIG CANCELLED notice again. I called them and asked about the order, and this time they said I use the one-life time purchase hardware discount already, so I explain my situation to them, because I enrolled ADC Membership quite a while, and the one I purchased with ADC hardware discount is in the period of my Selected Membership, and the order is used the year pre system's ADC selected membership hardware discount. I explain again and again, and Apple HK just transfer me to ADC hotline again and again, I m so frustrate and desperate. They keep saying that they can resolve the problem but by than they just create more and more confuse. By now when I m typing this email, they still haven't solve the problem yet.

You know, I love Apple and I love create thing in Mac, iPhone; and I love shop in Apple Store(in Canada and US), because it always give me a very good experience which can't find in other store; I enrolled ADC membership is because I can get the latest and cheaper price of the hardware from which I can do exotic things in the Mac, and I can get in touch with Apple engineer to test software and latest technology in the exotic OS, I believe my thought is same as you and Steve Woz back in 80's which is I m going to change the world; Of course, this horrible shipping experience won't stop my motivation in Mac and Apple, and I will continuous developing software in Mac and iPhone, but all I want to say is this experience is my dark spot on my good experience on shopping in Apple Store. Now Apple HK or asia whatever it is said that they need to use a day or two to find out my ADC membership about the question "Did I use the one life time hardware purchase." , just wonder is that hard to find the record in the file...... and I still wait my Xserve, and they still keep saying no idea how long does it take. :mad:
