Hey,
Is there a way to copy a backup file from the desktop to its rightful location without starting OS X. I was fooling around with the log in screen and messed it up. I don't really want to have to reinstall the OS. If someone knows how I can copy a file without starting Mac OS X please let me know.

Thanks

I think (and I could be wrong) but you may have to somehow use that as a 2nd hard drive, boot from another and just kind of move the file that way. In other words, take the drive and treat it like an external. You kinda need the OS to get to your desktop.
