hi.

our group had this discussion and maybe you guys could give your input.

is there a way to securely host torrents? is there a way to host torrents without the workplace, isp, etc. knowing?

i guess lowering the upload bandwidth would reduce suspicion...

note: yes, i know about the moral issues regarding torrents (in general). that is not the issue here and not the right thread to discuss it. just need help to discuss with our group. thank you.

Password protect with a great AES password! Only give out that password to people you really know in life! Open a port up anywhere is big undertaking should not be taking nonchalantly with better upload speeds with account it needs careful security installed! Think of the Internet as bad guy trying to hack you at every opportunity so protect you network! Beside if you plan many people accessing the service then consider getting a Business Account for better upload speeds!

There’s nothing inherently wrong with torrents and the technology.

Simply hosting and downloading torrents won’t cause issue with your ISP.

The issue is theft and piracy. Which is an issue regardless of the technology.
