I've got a whole bunch of apps that can use F1-F12 keys for better things than their presets (butler, PTHitunes notifiter, Expose, etc.), but I don't want to check the box in system preferences to set all the defaults to fn and the key they used to be, because seriously, who want's to get rid of volume controls?
Does anybody have a solution for me? Are there 3rd party apps (or particularly, ways within my existing apps) to adjust screen brightness, volume, maybe keyboard backlighting, but I think I'd keep that as a multiple keystroke function? Then I could just flip the switch to customized keys, and customize some to be the same. If not, is there some hack that lets me keep some keys as is, and change others?
Thanks. It just majorly sucks to have two keys I can set, and about 20 things to set.
