Hey,

I've owned my new used Mid '07 MacBook for a week now and I love it. Dunno how I lived so long using Windows... but I've noticed the MagSafe Adapter (60W if it makes any difference) gets really hot when it's being used. I know warming up slightly is normal due to the huge amount of energy conversion that goes on in that little brick, but it's to the point where I can't hold on to it for too long because it's way too hot. Is this "normal" for MagSafes or should I take it to Apple?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an early '08 13.3" MacBook. I have also noticed that the power adapter gets quite hot ... at least initially. As yours, it's almost too hot to hold for 10 seconds. IIRC, this heat comes on at the beginning of the cycle, and then tapers with time. I'll check it again this evening during the Mac's evening meal. :)
