No, no. It has nothing to do with that. But it is only for jailbroken phones, sorry!

1. Create a Gmail account, we are going to need it later.
2. Go to Cydia, install BossPrefs.
3. Go to Cydia, search for "Freepops" install it, then search again, and install "Freepops BossPrefs Toggle".
4. Go to BossPrefs, turn Freepops on. Hit the power button, and then reboot it.
5. Once it's on again, go to settings, hit the Mail option. Then, add account. Choose Other.
6. You are going to have to fill some account information, do it with your hotmail account, and the click save. A warning is going to appear, ignore it.
7. On the, Incoming Mail Server, change the hostname to, localhost , it's going to take a while, and then, give you another warning, once again, ignore it.
8. Now, here we need the Gmail account. Go further down, to the, Outgoing Mail Server. On the SMTP part, you are going to have to change it to, smtp.gmail.com , and then fill the username and password, with the ones from your Gmail.
9. It should validate your information, then press the home button, reboot it again.
10. PRESTO! You have your hotmail account on your Iphone! :D

If anyone tries it out, please let me know if it worked for them, or if you have any questions :)

I think that in the title it should have said "jail broken phones only".

Only for Jailbroken Iphones  .okay anyway thanks for sharing, though I can not try this.

so you have to jailbreak? well all i had to do is subscribe to hotmail plus, then a week later i contacted customer services asking them to cancel my subscription because the pop3 function was not syncing right with my http hotmail account when i delete/ send messages. they canceled the subscription and refunded my money back. I ended up getting the hotmail service on my iphone for free as it seems after a month later i still have hotmail access on my iphone.

Hi - How were you able to get hotmail to forward your mail to something other than an MSN account?

Thanks,
Shana

I was able to forward my Hotmail to my Gmail account quite easily, although it might be because I have a student account for college (why else would I use Hotmail?) :p But yeah, I just went to Options > More Options > and under "Manage your account" there's "Forward mail to another e-mail account".

yep using my method u r able to forward your hotmail email to any other
Email account

When i go into hotmail options - there is a message that says you can only forward hotmail to other msn accounts. What kind of hotmail account do you have?

i only have the free hotmail service, i have not paid for any service with hotmail, you need to go through the steps i done, step by step, otherwise it will only let you forward you emails to your own domain, (I think),

If you do it the way i written it, it will work, as i set up my sisters iPhone last night to receive her hotmail emails to the house email address.

go from step 1 to 19 and it will work,

Hi Mark. Thanks for your reply. Its odd. When i followed your steps, after i entered my confirmation code, "step 9" didn't happen. It took me to a page with all of my account options and i could go into the "Mobile alerts for new messages" section and tell it not to send me alerts when I get new messages. But still, when i go into the mail forwarding section, there is a statement at the top of the page that says "You can forward your mail to one other e-mail address that ends in hotmail.com, msn.com, live.com, or is part of Windows Live Custom Domains."

Is there something i didn't do correctly?
