hotmail and a problem from my .mac account

I downloaded some fotos from my digi cam, to my imac, and then tried to send a coouple to my friend on hotmail, but when he got them he couldnt download them to his comp cuz hotmail said they had a virus, but surely that cant be right? cuz the fotos came from my camera to my mac ,,, i could understand if maybe they came to me from a friend using windows,,, but my mac,,, thats not right is it? now,,, now usually when i send fotos to friends on windows i tick the box in mail saying windows friendly attachments, would that be the prob? they fotos are in Jpeg format,,

Well your friends mail server from his ISP may have a virus which infecting files, or the hotmail server may have a virus. It could also be a false report. I would try sending them again using Mail checking the box that says use windows friendly attachments.
