Uh Oh! I tried logging into hotmail today and the server is down. Can anyone confirm? How long will it take to get back up again do you think?

I think you might be right, because the MSN/Live Messenger service is not working either.. At least not for me..

Anyone else having problems with Live Messenger today?

i'm having the same problem, hotmail sucks!! But everyone in Belgium uses it for msn :(

lol well I'm not sure about you guys but strangely enough it just came back up for me. I don't just use hotmail, I have my university account forward to it so I can send larger file sizes. I also have a yahoo mail account.

Now both work back, but it takes an eternity to log in msn, and hotmail isn't much faster..

Yeh, me too. I tried to login to MSN at about noon today and the Hotmail.com page never opened. It tried to forward me to the live.com login page but didn't work. I also noticed that I've been getting booted a lot from the MSN Mac:Messenger and it has given me a lot of "you might not be connected to the internet" errors.

It's working now though. :)

Hotmail isn't working for me either. At least its not my primary email provider. I don't even get a "timed out" message or anything. Hmmm...

Edit: Ok, now its working for me.

I normally type hotmail.com and redirected to the login.live URL. I got a server error about 15 minutes ago but tried it again (typing hotmail.com and getting redirected), which took way too long but the sign in page loaded. I typed my password and boom, Safari's moaning "failed to open page" server error.

It's unlikely that any of Microsoft's servers are in Florida. I'd be more worried about a Redmond, Washington power outage. :D

Maybe it would give them time to think of ways to better manage their servers. I mean, just look at that XBL downtime for example.

You know, I do realize that I might have been underestimating Microsoft. They might put their servers there just in case they broke because of WS2k3, and would let them retire to Florida beaches once they crapped out! :D

hotmail is down yet again. it seems to be down every 1-2 weeks now. i use hotmail as my spam address and my email for offers and the such so they don't sell off my personal email to spammers.

Nobody in this thread us have been able to get into Hotmail over the past few months, but thanks to the advice you just gave in this really old thread, we can now check our hotmail, use MSN Messenger, and continue on with our lives.
