Edit: Title is supposed to read "Hotmail on the iPod touch" Silly me haha.

I have browsed and found apollo, which i cant get to work, and the iphone mail app. With the iphone app it doesn't include msn, but you can choose other, however there are all sorts of addresses that you have to enter. I was wondering if anyone has done this to be able to receive hotmail messages, or if anyone knows if its possible?

It would be great if it was possible!

So where do you suggest it should be? I corrected the title, it was me being silly.

In the hacks forum. The Touch has to be hacked to use it. You will get more responses over there. If you are talking about using Apollo or the Mail app. If you are talking about web mail, then reword your question.

Hotmail does work on the Touch under Safari, I am logged in right now. This is just plain old web mail.

I posted another topic in the hacks forum, but it has dissapeared.

Yeah i know you can acess it through safari, but i want to use the mail app for my hotmail, like you can use it for.mac, yahoo mail, etc.

Have you tryed that? Is it all it seems to be? Hesitant about giving them my hotmail details lol!

my computer at work will not let me on that forum, could anyone explain it here so i can have my hotmail on my ipod touch now we have that lovely new update?
Thanks

if you mean hotmail email you need to go to the site as microsoft doesnt allow it to be directly via pop or imap unless you pay (use gmail) if you mean chat use beejive for iphone, its aweb app but considering your on a touch and have to be in wifi anyway to use such a feature it doesnt really make a difference.

it was a nice idea to begin with, but i wont change cos if im in a wi fi spot i may aswell just log in to my hotmail account if i need to be online for the others anyway?

how do u get hotmail on the iPod touch (no izymail)

I have been looking for a way to get mail on my iPod using the mail app I used izymail for awhile with minor problems but now it has expired and I dont want to pay a subscription. can any1 help?

Seriously, Hotmail is lame and not worth the effort. I switched to Gmail when I got my Touch and never looked back. It works seamlessly with the Mail app and supports IMAP, which means your mail is pulled to your iPod every 15 minutes when connected to wifi- similar but not identical to push email. It has a great interface and I've had absolutely no problems with it. Unfortunately, and adding to Hotmail's whole "how can we be super lame" theme, Hotmail will not allow you to forward your mail to another address like Gmail, which forces you to abandon it altogether. In retrospect, I'm glad it does because I haven't used it since, but it's a pain letting your contacts know your address has changed.
