iPhone iOS 16.1
iPad 12.9 (WiFi) iPadOS 16.1 (20B79)
My iPad never joins my iPhone Personal Hotspot automatically and I always have to select my iPhone manually in my iPad Settings.
I’ve tried here:
www.macrumors.com
For “Instant Hotspot” it lists the following requirements:
All yes. But my iPad still doesn’t join my iPhone hotspot automatically.
It also says:
“Note the Auto-Join Hotspot setting located at the bottom of the Wi-Fi screen in Settings. This allows the connecting device to automatically discover nearby personal hotspots when no Wi-Fi network is available. Tapping this option lets you set it to Automatic, Ask to Join, or Never.”
When I set this to “Automatic”, again my iPad still doesn’t join automatically.
I’ve tried the “Family Sharing” option, but under “Settings/Personal Hotspot“, I have no Family Sharing toggle.
And yes, I’ve turned both my iPhone and my iPad off and on again.
I just want my iPad to connect to my iPhone hotspot automatically, without having to go through Settings every single time.
What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance.
