As we speak I am at a Borders bookstore and I am connected to a HotSpot, Tmobile to be exact. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to protect myself while here or any applications to keep people out of my Mac. Even though from looking around it all seems to be older people but hey you never know who might be here next time.

as long as they dont know your password they cant...make sure you have file sharing off.....

Turn on your firewall and make sure you don't have any important holes in it like file sharing or ftp. If you want to see who is out there possibly (though most likely not) snooping then run MacStumbler.
