Has anybody else noticed that haptic chimes are no longer working? I'm not talking about audible chimes, I'm talking about haptic tapping.

If my watch isn't on silent mode I hear the hourly chimes (bell), but if I have my watch on silent mode, which I have it on most of the time, there's no haptic feedback for the chime. I don't recall if this is a Watch OS 7 thing or a Watch Series 6 issue but previously, with my AW5 and OS 6, I would feel a tap at the top of every hour.

Haptic alerts are set to ON and Prominent. Chimes are set to ON and Hourly and Bells. Not sure if I'm missing something.

Thanks for making the thread. I had no idea the watch had this feature, seeing how the setting is located in accessibility, which I don’t normally frequent. I turned it on just now. Will see if it works in 57 minutes.

It’s listed under clock settings too. That’s how I found it.

I hear it. It’s just faint no matter how loud your volume is. I just heard now.

Yeah the volume of chime is lower than whatever the volume is set at for alerts: same for me.

I was bothered at first, but now appreciate the subtle noise no matter what.

Yes, I enjoy it too. I think it’s smart.

Nope. Their working for me.

So, you're saying you get the haptic tap when your watch is on silent mode? Could somebody confirm? I get the audible chime and also the tap when my watch isn't on silent mode, but when my phone is on silent mode I don't get anything.

My phone usually isn’t in silent mode, I enabled it and it’s 3pm now and I did get haptic feedback.

I set to chime on the hour and it wasn't chiming since I got my 6. I then changed it to chime every 15 minutes and it started working. Then switched back to on the hour and now working fine.

I tried this also and didn’t work for me. Did you reset either or both devices at some point?

Other than not getting haptics, I turned the sound on, on the watch and I’m not even getting bells. I get a very short ding. Something’s not right here.

The "bells" is a single ding of a bell. The "birds" is a chirp.
Try changing the sound back and forth from bells to birds, and you can hear the two sounds as you change it. (Note: this may not sound unless you wake the watch while changing back and forth, if changing in the Watch app instead of in the Settings on the watch itself.)

Ah ok. I coulda sworn it was two dings with two different tones like a doorbell. Regardless, kinda bummed the haptic doesn’t work. My watch is on mute 99% of the time. Time to escalate to Apple support.
