Houston we have a problem third party Smartcovers not working on iPAD3??

Ok just got an iPad3 and I have two third party cases with smart cover support which work 100% fine on the iPad on the iPad3 they fail to register on and off.

In fact I took a magnet and used it on the case right below the volume buttons and it worked flawlessly on and off and the menu choice showed up in the settings.

Has anyone else noticed this or did I get a dud??

Marware Microshell folio does not work either. It is specific for iPad 3 so the mfgr missed something here.

Mine works on the new ipad and the ipad2. The covers I have are not supposed to be generic versions of a replica of the apple cover. They just also have the magnet as well, i dunno if that makes a difference.
