It gets a bit old to sift through all of the repetitive "rumor" threads in the hardware sections. How about a "Future Hardware" or similar forum in the hardware section?

I know most would agree here. You could even divide it into sub-forums like "Notebooks", "Desktops", and "Everything Else".

That sounds more like the purpose of this site, rumors about the future....

Exactly...

It would really help clear a lot of the clutter in some of the hardware forums. The "rumors" threads just seem kind of out of place and don't get the attention that they could have in the forums that they are in right now.

Also I must say that this is by far the best Mac site/forum on the web. You guys have really done a great job with MacRumors.

This will never happen. Macrumors gets a lot of ad revenue from stories on the front page. If a new rumor comes out and the editorial board thinks it's worthy it goes to page one and generates ad revenue.

Keep in mind MR has become a behemoth in the Mac rumor/news community. And rightly so.

That has nothing to do with having a "Future Hardware" section in the forums.

It would simply be a forum for people to discuss upcoming Apple products, not so much a place to post rumors and a way to remove some of the clutter in the other hardware forums.

Much of the speculation on future Apple hardware involves either specific models (Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook, etc.) for which we have individual forums, or rumored products (e.g., netbooks) for which there are usually existing threads from Page 1 or Page 2 rumors.

You are welcome to use the Apple, Industry and Internet Discussion forum for any Apple-related discussion topic that does not fall into a more specific forum category. That includes speculation about future hardware products.

Speculation about future Apple software would generally be in the Mac OS X forum or the Mac Applications forum.
