Does anybody know whether we will have the option to fetch mail quicker than the present minimum setting of 15 minutes?

If you have push turned on then the fetch setting is a fall back incase push isn't working.

Hopefully the will introduce a 5 minute push time, but nothing has been hinted at

push means it doesn't check every x minutes. Push means the email's are "pushed" to the device as they are received. You have to set it up this way and certain services don't support it.

Thanks. I wish they'd introduce a setting right down to seconds as even with 5 min setting, I need to wait 2x5 minutes (to & from) to get the response. Unless, I do it manually, which is a bore.

've been getting these messages for weeks when trying to download or update apps. It doesn't happen all the time but often enough. I thought the latest ios was supposed to fix this? I get an error message in itunes when updating apps

What does this have to do with push email?

Yeh I can't stand it, hmm might try and make an app to push more often.

If you setup you accounts as push then you don't need a fetch time. POP3 and IMAP accounts don't work as push. If you are using gmail you can set it up as an exchange account to support push
