How accurate are the 'in-store' inventory lists when you check for products in-store?

For example I'm looking to get this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/H...-xl-external-battery-for-ipad-iphone-and-ipod

But it says it's only available to "ship to store". I need this by tomorrow (stupid me for waiting lol)... I will make the trip to my local apple store tomorrow to see if they have one in-stock but would it even be worth it? How accurate is the online listing of the in-store inventory?

Inventory at most stores is checked on a day-to-day basis, so it would be accurate by a day. Not sure about the Apple Stores, but this is the case at a lot of places.

Any other stores nearby have it? You might want to call before you go in.

Only store that says it's available right now is 2.5 hrs away I don't need it THAT bad but if it were an hour drive I'd say yes.

Not sure how they are now but years ago they would refresh daily. They might be more real time now but I would not trust it.

Most stores would be willing to put an item on hold for you if you call them.

Apple Store inventory is adjusted in real time. If you use the Apple Store App to purchase it, you simply walk in and pick it up. I've done it numerous times.
