I ordered my refurbished macbook air on oct. 21st. Apple confirmed/ shipped the order on oct. 25th.

FedEx tracking says it should arrive today oct.27th by 6pm, but there haven't been any updates since yesterday.

I am worried it is stuck at customs in Calgary - as it needs to make it to Winnipeg tonight.

Here is my tracking info.

Tracking results as of Oct 27, 2010 10:59 AM CST

Date/Time Location/Activity
Oct 26, 2010 2:46 PM CALGARY, AB/In transit - Paperwork available for non-FedEx broker
Oct 26, 2010 11:41 AM CALGARY, AB/In transit - Package available for clearance
Oct 26, 2010 6:41 AM MEMPHIS, TN/Departed FedEx location
Oct 26, 2010 4:12 AM MEMPHIS, TN/In transit
Oct 26, 2010 12:54 AM MEMPHIS, TN/Arrived at FedEx location
Oct 25, 2010 5:15 PM ELK GROVE, CA/Left FedEx origin facility
Oct 25, 2010 6:34 PM /Shipment information sent to FedEx

I tried calling a 1-800 number for FedEx and the customer rep said it might be stuck in customs and may not arrive until tomorrow, But do they have access to any different information I do...?!?! The tracking website says 'on schedule' for delivery today by 6pm.

Should I be expecting the package today? or should I prepare myself for a delay...

I NEED this mac, can't stand waiting so long. I thought today was going to be christmas, but I'm worried it won't be.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE***

I called FedEx again, they said the plane had mechanical problems but then said it still should have made it?!?! Therefore, they are going to open up a "case" for my file, asked what my package was and my contact info - Concluded, they would call me when they have more information?

WHAT IS GOING ON

FedEx showed an expected delivery date of Oct 16 for me. I waited at home all day on Oct 16, constantly checking the website. Finally around 6pm I checked the website tracking again and the expected delivery line was missing.

The missing line reappeared Oct 18 with a new expected delivery date of Oct 19. And I don't even have to deal with customs as I am in the USA!

So no, I wouldn't put any faith in FedEx tracking.

Thanks for the reply! What day did your shipment end up arriving?

#%#% everything, all I wanted to do today was download countless apps. I skipped my afternoon classes today, and looks like I'll be skipping my afternoon classes again tomorrow. Waiting around to receive this mac from FedEx is more important than my last year at business school anyways

Any suggestions on apps?

My refurb iMac came via Fedex in about a week with no problem.

What you want to look for in the tracking info is "out for delivery". That means it is on the truck for delivery that day. Until you see that, or words close to it, then it is unlikely today is the day :(

It arrived on the 19th.

Could be tied up in customs, anywhere between 1 to 3 days before you see it. I recall a time when they actually called me to verify I had a package coming in & wanted to know what the box contained. Thing is once I received the package looked to me as if the box had already been opened.

SIGH

well FedEx called me back, they have no idea where the package is, there was some sort of computer malfunction or airplane malfunction (they weren't clear, I've heard both stories) They have no idea when the macbook will arrive, the girl said maybe tomorrow, maybe the next day. She told me I could call Apple, but I don't see how that would help. All-in-all they've done nothing, the package is later than they said it would be, and at this point they can't even give me an estimated time of arrival, lovely.

I'll be a Mac owner someday...
