I noticed going down a steep hill my by computer that’s built it and seems accurate say I was about 25 mph and that seems right. But Cyclemeter shows way faster. I know when I first got the bike bike my gramen gps and my phone and the bike never match they are all off from each other.

ok two different cycling apps running at the same time with different distances. strava and cyclometer both top rated apps. strava does not provide as much info and it does not start and stop the time when you do but still. none f it matches the Garmin and all three are maybe .6 miles more distance then the build it computer on my bike.

the first two are the iPhone the last one is the Garmin. it idd not have any way off top speeds like I have had before.

Ultimately the phone does not have a speedometer built on. It uses gps to calculate your speed based on time and distance. I don’t cycle, but I have found that waze is extremely accurate in my car - which makes sense as distances are longer and time remains consistent.

ya I think a lot of it is when I have a lot of starts and stops. my garmin is more off at the start of my ride that has a lot of starts and stops. but the max speed can be a little off or a lot off but the garmin is right on. but the garmin with a built in barometer can be off more on altitude.
