I just installed Droplr, set it to "Start at Login" and rebooted my Yosemite MBA (admin user). Droplr starts as expected, but System Preferences claim that only Dropbox starts at login.

It seems that Droplr can start at login without notifying my System Preferences. So if that's true, how do I accurately show all login items?

I would startup a Mac with Dropbox in the startup. That is know to cause bad processor cycles! so just manually start it up after the Full login.

that makes no sense, and doesn't answer the question.

i don't know if there's a log you can check, but i do see apps that offer the ability to 'open at startup'...but don't show in login items. so you might want to check your applications (and their preferences) themselves...

~/Library/LaunchAgents

Look in this user library folder for the startup item. If it is not in there, run the app Etrecheck and it will show all startup items.
