I was trying to watch some videos on YouTube I saw already on a MBP, but the looked like crap.

The video on computers defaults to the lowest (360), but this video has a 1080 version.

How can I choose on YT to play the higher quality version (I looked, could not find).

Thanks!

You can save YouTube to the homescreen and get higher quality than the built-in YouTube.app. Also, there is an extension for Safari on your Macbook Pro that let's you choose a default resolution and use HTML5 when possible.

How set to homescreen?

Go to youtube.com on your iPad. Then click the menu button (the button next to the address bar that looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it). Select save to home screen (or something like that. I don't have my iPad with me at the moment, so I can't check the exact wording). That's it. It'll save a shortcut to your home screen.
