Eh,... the costume designer chooses the clothes for a movie....

From which movie is this picture? If it's a big movie, maybe someone on the imdb boards can help you: www.imdb.com

Thanks, the movie is Frozen.

Look up the Wardrobe Designer from that movie and send them an email.

EDIT:
Would it be a bad idea to phone her and ask? As i found her address, and phone number ,but not her email? Or should i just write her a letter asking?

I believe her name is Barbara Nelson.

No, definitely write her an email. If you found her address, you should be able to find her email. That way you can attach a pic to show her what you're talking about. It's been awhile from when she saw the hat to when you saw the hat, so a visual would be in order. Film folks are usually pretty nice. If she doesn't respond in a timely manner, try looking up the assistants and asking them.

I would not suggest calling as it is very creepy and unlikely to work.

Not everything in a movie wardrobe is new and available for sale. Some items are years old and some are the actor's own clothes on occasion.

I'd suggest you use this item as in inspiration and not try to get the exact one. A little advice from one gay man to another.

why would you go to the extent to contacting an costume designer of an movie just to get a stupid toque. Just buy one from walmart.

Now, if you're putting together a Halloween type costume a remarkable 10 months early, then actual design mimicking is important.
