How are peoples M1 battery health holding out? I'm thinking of buying the AppleCare for my M2, mainly for the free battery replacement if it drops below the 80% health level. So I'm just wondering how are people's M1 MacBooks going in retaining their health?

Been using mine as my daily machine since February 2nd, 2021:

Cycle Count: 139
Condition: Normal
Maximum Capacity: 88%

Max capacity might be 88%, but I can't say I've noticed any change in battery drain or life. I can quite happily go 2-3 days without a charge, which is useful when I'm travelling and have forgotten my charger.

I have been using my MacBook M1 as a daily driver since October 21.

I am using it for almost a year now. I have 34 battery cycles and it dropped to 98 %.
I have no idea if thats good or not but didnt it say 1000 cycles would make it drop to 80?
I dont think its gonna make it to 1000....Bit miffed.

I use my M1 Air daily for (on average) 10 hours a day (I know..). Bought it new in september 2021 but started really using it around january 2022. It had 20 cycles then, and was already at 94,7%. Now it's at 263 cyles and 85,9%
Still fairly happy with the battery. Sometimes it runs empty in only a few hours, but in 99,9% of the times this happens, it turns out it's Safari drinking all the juice.
All in all, this M1 Macbook Air is the best laptop I've ever owned, dating back to a 'Bronze Keyboard/Lombard' Powerbook G3 and many others in between. It's lightweight, silent, fast and I love the keyboard even more than I loved my 12" Powerbook G4's keyboard.

Down to 89%, only take it off the cord like once or twice a month. BTW is the warmth from gaming on low graphics capable of doing anything to either the battery health or SSD health? 89% seems like it's falling fast, it's been 2 years but still seems slightly fast to me.

I've had my base M1 Air for a year and a half now. It spends about half its time plugged in, the other half sitting in my school bag that I tote between home and my classroom. It's currently at 52 cycles and 91.9% health, and I'm quite happy with this machine. Its battery life is absolutely insane, it's faster than I could ever want, and it's small and light for carrying between school and home. I'm planning on getting many more years out of it :)

I recently purchased a MacBook M1 base and ran 22 hours of battery time with 20% left!
my problem, overlooked situation was that I forgot the plug was not in the adapter and was worried I ran the power down. that day there were some pauses when the MacBook was left alone, but was used heavily that day.

I replaced the original Battery for a MacBook Air 2010 last week which was used very much these past 12 plus years
hopefully I can get the same results with the M1.

M1 MBA 16/256 purchased April 21, battery is at 69 cycles and at 85.7% according to coconut battery. System report says 69 cycles and 90%.

Mine's going great. According to System Information, it's got 122 cycles and is at 96% of capacity. CoconutBattery says it's only at 90% capacity. I'd tend to trust the System Information readout more? If I had to guess, I'd say I get easily 10-15 hours out of a full battery depending on what I'm doing.

One huge benefit of the M1's great battery life is that you put less wear on your battery because you're not charging it as often. I had the Intel i5 version of this exact MacBook and that battery was constantly being charged and as a result it saw a lot more wear.
