I went to three different apple stores today and none of them had any 1TB in stock. Each store told me that they never carry TB in the store that they have to be ordered online. How are some of the people on here getting so lucky?

There is an "ultimate" edition of each MBP that has always been carried with high end specs. They are not listed in the store and you have to ask the sales rep about it. For the 15" it is a 2.9/1tb/16gb/460 model that has top everything except not a 2tb hard drive.

The 13" has a similar this round with 3.3/512gb/16gb. It was in stock when I went last Wednesday and they got the 15" version on Thursday. Our Apple Store is not huge so I believe all of them have this option.

Good luck!

There are stores equipped with BTO models.
The pattern seems to be: max. CPU, max. RAM, one tier under max. SSD and max. GPU on the 15".

So if you are looking for a 13" with 1 TB, you won't get it this way.

Annoying that no one has a full maxed, including 2TB, in store.

You wanted to be able to go into the store the day of launch, and get exactly what you wanted, while everyone else is waiting upwards of 5 weeks in some cases? Lol... first world problems bro
