As the title states, I've been seeing people with iPhone 4s's that have been factory unlocked and my friend says to check in the stores. I called them and they said they didn't have it. So, how are people getting these?

They are available at the apple store everywhere else but the US. The release date for the US sim free phone is November.

I'm not sure about the exact situation in the USA but here in Germany some carriers sell them unlocked alongside their other contract phones. Also, we can order unlocked IPhones from the official Apple website, so maybe it's the same on the US Apple site too.

Interesting, my friend said the same thing, to go in and ask and not to call the store. But this is in Washington State.

I also heard that when you buy it under Sprint, it's unlocked so you could buy the phone off of someone?

Washington State, they are probably getting them out of Canada then. I know many in the bordering states of Ontario get unlocked ones from us (MI, OH, NY,PA).

The 64GB is $959 CAD after HST, where as the 64GB in the UK is $1117 CAD. Canadians I think has the cheapest unlocked iPhones...people from other countries chime in!

AU$999 here, which I believe is CN$1050, give or take a few $. Thats including 10% GST on our prices too, so it's more like CN$940 plus tax ;)
