New 13" MBP with ~standard~ 4gb memory on it's way.

Planning to order another 4gb memory.

Does Apply generally just fill slot A with a 4 gig stick or there is a possibility both slots may be filled up with 2 gig sticks

If you want 8GB, you'll have to buy an 8GB kit.

By using 2 RAM slots, Apple keeps costs down, and increases speed by enabling dual-channel mode.

I believe an 8GB kit is pretty trivially priced anyway, if you buy from an online reseller, ie ~100 bucks. And you get to keep the old RAM incase something goes bad.
